While the exact cause of cancer is not known, things you can do to reduce your risk of mouth cancer include:

Eat a balanced diet
It is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms associated with mouth cancer, some of which include:
Unexplained lumps on the lip, in the mouth or throat that do not resolve
Sore, persistent mouth ulcers that last for several weeks
Persistent unexplained lumps in the neck
Numbness of the lips or mouth
White or red patches on the tongue or inside the mouth
